'With Toronto on another lockdown we've been trying to find new activities for our 2 year old daughter. I bought some instruments I thought she might enjoy playing with: a kalimba and a tongue drum. While she was sleeping I spent time weaving these instruments around guitar loops. I found myself adding other elements, random objects sitting in my studio with me, pens, glasses, mallets, and books to add some textures and tones to add movement to these recordings. I credit our daughter Saphiya with the album title, as she runs around outside trying to run away from her shadow. To me these pieces reflect this playfulness, and feel uplifting in a pretty somber time.' - Words by Brad Deschamps (anthéne)
